Inns and Taverns of Arlington, Sandgate, and Sunderland
Sunday 25 February 2018, 02:00pm
Hits : 33

Join Bill Budde, curator of the Russell Vermontiana Collection, as he highlights the role of inns and taverns in New England as a whole as well as specifically in Arlington, Sandgate, and Sunderland.  At the center of social life, inns and taverns, forerunners of today's hotels and motels, have played important roles in communities.  Known for food, drink, and lodging, inns gained a reputation as community centers in early America.  Often located along major roads, they have also become historic markers in our changing attitudes towards travel.
