Organizing Your Family Collection
Sunday 25 September 2016, 02:00pm - 04:00pm
Hits : 166

If you have been fortunate (or unfortunate) enough to have been designated as the family seanachaidheach or genealogist you may have already faced the dilemma of finding one photograph or record when you need it. This seminar will present different ways to organize or index your collection so you can find what you need when you need it without breaking up your mother’s collection or grandfather’s photo album. Methods will range from manual to digital organization, the use of “tags” and the potential for facial recognition software.

The presenter, Bill Budde, is a professional genealogist and curator of the Russell Vermontiana Collection that serves as the repository for history, family papers, and documents for Arlington, Sandgate, and Sunderland. Bill has extensive experience planning and presenting trainings and seminars on various aspects of genealogy and family history, is the coordinator of the Scottish Genealogy, History, and Culture seminars for the annual New Hampshire Highland Games and has presented throughout New England. He has worked at the Bennington Museum as library assistant in the research library, and as archival assistant in the curatorial department.
