Introduction to Genealogy Program - 2pm-4pm - April 10, April 24, May 15, May 29
The Library is pleased to announce a series of four family history seminars to be held in April and May in the Sandgate meeting Room from 2 to 4 p.m.
Part 1 (April 10) will cover what is family history, collecting family genealogy and where to find the information. Part 2 (April 24) is focused on how to organize your findings, charts and numbering methods, and software for genealogy. Part 3 (May 15) will focus on proving your family tree, and Part 4 (May 29) will present the need for sources, the use of DNA in family history, and tips on spending your genealogy money wisely.
The presenter for all seminars is Bill Budde, is a professional genealogist and curator of the Russell Vermontiana Collection that serves as the repository for history, family papers, and documents for Arlington, Sandgate, and Sunderland. Bill has extensive experience planning and presenting trainings and seminars on various aspects of genealogy and family history, is the coordinator of the Scottish Genealogy, History, and Culture seminars for the annual New Hampshire Highland Games and has presented throughout New England. He has worked at the Bennington Museum as library assistant in the research library, and as archival assistant in the curatorial department.
